Golf in Lake Tanglewood

1 golf course in Lake Tanglewood, Texas.

Lake Tanglewood is a small residential lake community in Randall County south of Amarillo, near the edge of the canyon terrain that drains into the Palo Duro system. The community sits at the boundary between the flat Llano Estacado and the canyon terrain carved by the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River and its tributaries, providing a distinctive setting unlike most of the surrounding flat Panhandle landscape. Lake Tanglewood itself provides water recreation for the residential members in an otherwise dry region. Randall County is adjacent to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the largest canyon in Texas and one of the most dramatic natural features in the state. Amarillo is the main urban center for the community, approximately 15 miles to the north. The Panhandle terrain at roughly 3,500 feet has cold winters and persistent west winds. One course serves this small Panhandle lake community on the canyon edge.
