Golf in Muenster

Muenster is a small community in Cooke County in north Texas near Gainesville, known for its strong German Catholic heritage reflected in the large Sacred Heart Catholic Church that dominates the downtown. The Fischer & Wieser specialty foods company produces specialty condiments and food products that are distributed nationally. The community's German Catholic identity is one of the more distinct in north Texas, with traditions visible in community events including the annual Germania Volksfest. Muenster is in the Cross Timbers terrain of Cooke County, in the cedar and post oak country west of Gainesville. Cooke County is in the northern Texas agricultural zone along the Red River drainage. The community is approximately 80 miles northwest of Dallas and 15 miles west of Gainesville along the US 82 corridor. One course serves the Muenster area in the Cross Timbers terrain of Cooke County.
