Golf in San Marcos

San Marcos is the county seat of Hays County between Austin and San Antonio on the I-35 corridor, home to Texas State University and the crystal-clear San Marcos Springs that have sustained human habitation at this site for over 12,000 years. The springs emerge from the Edwards Aquifer and feed the San Marcos River, which is a popular destination for tubing and kayaking. Aquarena Springs, now a Texas State nature center, sits above the spring emergence point and preserves the spring ecosystem. The city has grown dramatically as both the Austin and San Antonio metropolitan areas have expanded, with I-35 making San Marcos accessible from both major cities and creating one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Two courses serve the San Marcos community in the limestone terrain of Hays County where the Hill Country meets the Blackland Prairie.
