Golf in Ferron

Ferron is the seat of Emery County, a small town in the canyon country of east-central Utah known as Castle Country. The Book Cliffs to the north and the San Rafael Swell to the south create a geologically dramatic context for a very rural community that has traditionally depended on coal mining and ranching for its economic base. Millsite State Park sits above Ferron in a canyon carved by Ferron Creek, where a reservoir created by Millsite Dam provides irrigation water and recreational opportunity — including an 18-hole golf course that is among the more remotely situated in the state park system. Castle Country's vast red-rock canyon terrain surrounds the town.
