Fruit Heights is a small Davis County city perched on the bench above Kaysville, where the land climbs from the valley floor toward the Wasatch Range. The name reflects the orchards and fruit production that characterized the bench land throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when families planted stone-fruit trees on the well-drained bench soils. Peaches, cherries, and apricots once grew extensively here before residential development replaced the groves. Davis Park Golf Course occupies a hillside position that delivers views down the valley toward the Great Salt Lake — one of the more elevated and scenically positioned municipal layouts in Davis County.
