Golf in Basin
Basin has 1 golf course — 1 public.
Basin is the Bighorn Basin county seat of Big Horn County, a small agricultural community in north-central Wyoming's broad river valley. The Big Horn River and its tributaries have made the Bighorn Basin one of Wyoming's most productive irrigated agricultural regions, supporting sugar beet production and cattle ranching across the basin floor. Basin's role as county seat brings government employment to a community that would otherwise be defined entirely by agriculture. The surrounding dry hills and the Bighorn Mountain foothills visible to the east frame the valley's agricultural landscape. The Bighorn River's tailwater fishery downstream at Thermopolis provides exceptional trout fishing, and the drive between Basin and Thermopolis through the Bighorn Canyon offers some of the most dramatic gorge scenery in Wyoming.
