Golf in Worland
Worland has 1 golf course — 1 public — topped by Green Hills Golf Course at 6,378 yards.
Worland is the Washakie County seat in the Bighorn Basin on the Big Horn River, the agricultural and commercial center of one of Wyoming's most productive irrigated farming regions. The Big Horn River's tailwater fishery downstream at Thermopolis Hot Springs is one of Wyoming's finest trout fishing destinations, and the thermal features at Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis include the world's largest natural mineral hot spring. Worland's position in the basin creates hot, dry summers ideal for agriculture but challenging for outdoor recreation, and the golf course provides a managed recreational landscape within the otherwise utilitarian basin community. The Bighorn National Forest, accessible via Route 16 east of Worland, provides elk hunting, mountain biking, and summer hiking in terrain that rises from the basin's hot, dry valley floor to cool, forested mountain ridges.
