Golf in Laramie

Laramie is Albany County's seat and the home of the University of Wyoming, the state's only four-year research university, at an elevation of nearly 7,200 feet on the high-altitude Laramie Plains. The university brings cultural amenities — galleries, performing arts, athletic events, and academic programming — to a small western city that would otherwise have fewer resources. The surrounding Snowy Range and Medicine Bow National Forest provide skiing, hiking, and camping within an hour's drive. Laramie's position on I-80 and I-287 makes it a crossroads community, and its university character gives it a more progressive political culture than most Wyoming communities.
