Fort Huachuca is a major U.S. Army installation in Cochise County at the base of the Huachuca Mountains in southeastern Arizona, near the city of Sierra Vista. The installation is headquarters for the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command and the Army Intelligence Center of Excellence, with a substantial military and civilian workforce. Fort Huachuca has been an active military post since 1877, placed there to support operations against the Apache and later serving various military missions. The post is at roughly 4,600 feet elevation in the high-desert grassland terrain of the borderlands, with the Huachuca Mountains rising above the installation to the west. One course serves the Fort Huachuca military community in the grassland terrain of southeastern Arizona.
