Golf in Somerton

Somerton is a small city in Yuma County in the lower Colorado River delta area of far southwestern Arizona, in the flat irrigated agricultural terrain of the Yuma metro area. The community is adjacent to Yuma and part of the greater Yuma metropolitan area, in the flat desert terrain where the Colorado River has been used for extensive irrigation agriculture since the early twentieth century. Somerton's proximity to Yuma and the Colorado River agricultural zone places it in the flat, warm desert of the lowest elevations in Arizona. The Cocopah Indian Tribe operates in the adjacent area, with tribal lands and the Cocopah Casino providing community resources and employment.
