Golf in Exeter

Exeter is a small city in Tulare County in the San Joaquin Valley foothills, east of Visalia. The city occupies flat to gently sloping terrain in the agricultural zone between the valley floor and the Sierra foothills, at a slightly higher elevation than the valley cities. Tulare County's eastern communities have a foothill agricultural character, with citrus, olives, and table grapes among the crops grown in the area. The surrounding citrus and olive groves give the Exeter area a distinct agricultural character from the dairy and cotton operations more common on the valley floor. State Route 65 connects Exeter to Visalia to the west and to Porterville to the south. The city has a compact downtown and is accessible from the Sierra foothills communities along State Route 190 to the east.
