Golf in Springville

Springville is a small community in Tulare County in the Sierra Nevada foothills, northeast of Porterville along State Route 190. The community sits in the Tule River canyon at roughly 1,300 feet elevation, where the river descends from the higher Sierra terrain toward the valley floor. Tulare County's foothill communities along this corridor occupy a zone of oak woodland and foothill pine where the terrain rises from the agricultural valley into more rugged mountain territory. Springville serves as a gateway community to the Tule River drainage and provides limited services for residents and visitors heading up into Sequoia National Forest. The community is primarily residential with a small commercial area, and residents travel to Porterville for most services. The surrounding terrain of river canyon and forested foothills draws both permanent residents and recreation visitors.
