Golf in Lake Almanor West

Lake Almanor West is a residential community in Plumas County on the western shore of Lake Almanor, in the northern Sierra Nevada at roughly 4,500 feet elevation. The community occupies a forested stretch of the western lake margin, where homes are set among mixed conifer and red fir that characterize the Lake Almanor basin. Plumas County's Lake Almanor area draws recreation-oriented residents and visitors from Northern California. Lake Almanor West is primarily residential, with access to the lake for boating and fishing, drawing a mix of full-time residents and seasonal property owners. State Route 36 runs along the western edge of the lake and connects the community to Chester to the north and to the Highway 89 network. The northern Sierra Nevada provides a backdrop of conifer forest and volcanic terrain for the community.
