Lemoore is a city in Kings County in California's San Joaquin Valley, southwest of Fresno and northwest of Bakersfield. Naval Air Station Lemoore, a major US Navy installation, lies adjacent to the city and plays a central role in the local economy. The city functions as the commercial hub for Kings County, serving agricultural communities on the surrounding flat valley floor. Kings County lies in one of the most productive agricultural zones in California, with cotton, dairy operations, and field crops making up much of the economic output. The terrain is level and wide, with the Kings River flowing through the county from the Sierra Nevada to the east. Lemoore sits at roughly 230 feet above sea level, in the broad interior of the valley.
