Golf in Pacific Grove

Pacific Grove is a small incorporated city in Monterey County at the northern tip of the Monterey Peninsula, adjacent to Monterey. The city occupies the northwestern tip of the peninsula, where the terrain transitions from the rocky Pacific coast to the more sheltered Monterey Bay side. Pacific Grove has a predominantly residential character with a compact downtown commercial area serving both locals and visitors. The city is known for the Monarch butterfly migration, with large numbers of butterflies wintering in the Monterey cypress groves within the city limits. Pacific Grove has a relatively modest real estate market compared to neighboring Pebble Beach and Carmel, and maintains a community character distinct from the more resort-oriented communities nearby. State Route 1 provides the main highway connection, with Monterey Peninsula communities reachable via local roads through the downtown.
