Golf in Paso Robles

Paso Robles is a city in San Luis Obispo County in the Salinas River valley, the commercial and civic center of the Paso Robles wine country. The city's name comes from the Spanish for pass of the oaks, referring to the oak woodland that characterizes the surrounding foothills. The Paso Robles wine appellation covers a large area of San Luis Obispo County north of the city and extending into surrounding hills and valleys. Vineyards, wineries, and tasting rooms are dispersed throughout the region, with the city's downtown serving as a gathering point for visitors. Hot springs have contributed to the city's appeal at various points in its development, with mineral water still available from some local sources. US Highway 101 runs through the city, which is roughly midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco along the Central Coast route.
