San Jacinto is a city in Riverside County in the San Jacinto Valley, adjacent to Hemet. The city occupies the northern portion of the San Jacinto Valley at roughly 1,500 feet elevation, where Mount San Jacinto rises to the northeast. Riverside County's San Jacinto Valley cities, including San Jacinto and Hemet, form a valley urban area that has grown with retirement and residential development. The city has a commercial area along State Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue. The San Jacinto Valley is bounded by the San Jacinto Mountains to the northeast. Mt. San Jacinto State Park is accessible via the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway on the west side of the mountain. State Route 74 and State Route 79 provide highway connections through the valley.
