Golf in Sutter

Sutter is a small community in Sutter County in California's Sacramento Valley, in flat agricultural terrain north of Yuba City. The community sits in an area where rice farming and other row crops dominate the landscape, in a low-lying portion of the Sacramento Valley where irrigation water makes intensive agriculture practical. Sutter County occupies a flat section of the valley, and much of its agricultural land is managed through the levee and canal network that serves this portion of the Central Valley. The area is bounded by the Sacramento River to the west and the Feather River to the east, both important to the county's water and flood management. Sutter is one of the smaller communities in the county and primarily residential in character, with residents typically traveling to Yuba City or Marysville for most commercial needs. The surrounding land is given over to farmland and wetland habitat common to this portion of the valley.
