Golf in Vallejo

Vallejo is a city in Solano County on the northern shore of San Pablo Bay, at the confluence of the bay and the Carquinez Strait. The city occupies a strategic position at the water gateway between San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Mare Island, adjacent to Vallejo, was home to a major naval shipyard for over a century before its closure in the 1990s, and portions of the former base have since been redeveloped for commercial and residential use. The city is connected to the Bay Area ferry network with service to San Francisco, and is accessible from Interstate 80 and State Route 29. Vallejo has a substantial and racially diverse population and serves as the commercial and employment center for southern Solano County. The city continues to attract investment in the areas surrounding the former naval base as redevelopment progresses. Lower housing values relative to the core Bay Area have drawn new residents in recent years.
