Golf in Albany
1 golf course in Albany, Texas.
Albany is the county seat of Shackelford County in west-central Texas, a small ranching community on the Clear Fork of the Brazos River. The community is known for the annual Fort Griffin Fandangle outdoor musical drama, one of the oldest community-produced outdoor pageants in Texas, and for its connection to the cattle drive era. Fort Griffin State Park, with the ruins of the frontier fort, occupies bluff terrain above the river. Shackelford County is in the Cross Timbers and the southern open plains, with cattle ranching and some oil production. The gently varied terrain of the Clear Fork valley provides the setting for this small county seat. One course serves the small Albany ranching community.
