Golf in Dyess Air Force Base

Dyess Air Force Base is adjacent to Abilene in Taylor County, home to the 7th Bomb Wing and a significant installation in the Air Force's strategic bomber fleet with both B-1 Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress aircraft. The base community is integrated with Abilene's economy and has a substantial military and civilian employee population that supports the west Texas city. Dyess is one of the major Air Force bases in the United States and brings significant economic activity to the Abilene area. The flat plains terrain of Taylor County at roughly 1,700 feet elevation and the west Texas climate characterize the base environment. The Dyess Linear Air Park displays vintage aircraft along the main gate entrance road. One course on the installation serves the Dyess Air Force community.
