Golf in Van Horn

Van Horn is the county seat of Culberson County in the Trans-Pecos of far west Texas, a small desert community at the junction of I-10 and US 90 in the high Chihuahuan Desert. The community is in dramatic high desert terrain, framed by the Guadalupe Mountains to the north—where Guadalupe Mountains National Park preserves the highest peak in Texas—and the Van Horn Mountains to the south. Culberson County is one of the largest Texas counties by area and one of the most sparsely populated, with vast ranch land and limited surface water. The flat to basin-range terrain of the Chihuahuan Desert at roughly 4,000 feet elevation has a dry, high-desert climate with cold winters and hot summers.
