Golf in Bay City

Bay City is the county seat of Matagorda County on the middle Texas Gulf Coast, on the lower Colorado River near its confluence with Matagorda Bay. The city serves as the commercial center for a coastal county with a mix of agriculture, petrochemical industry, and Gulf Coast recreation. Matagorda County has the South Texas Project nuclear power plant as a significant employer, and the area is in the rice and cattle farming country of the middle coast. The flat coastal plain terrain of Matagorda County has the characteristic bayou and slough drainage of the Texas coast, with Gulf breezes and subtropical humidity year-round. Bay City is connected to the Gulf Coast via the Matagorda Bay and the Colorado River delta area. Two courses serve the Bay City community in the flat coastal plain terrain.
