Golf in Sweetwater

Sweetwater is the county seat of Nolan County in west-central Texas, known for the annual Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup, one of the largest such events in the world held in March, and for the extensive wind energy development that has transformed the hilltops west of the city into one of the most visible wind farm areas in Texas. Nolan County is in the west Texas plains between Abilene and Midland, at the edge of the Edward Plateau in gently varied terrain at roughly 2,100 feet elevation. The wind farms reflect the broader West Texas wind energy economy that has become significant for the Texas power grid. Lake Sweetwater provides some recreation for the community. One course serves the Sweetwater community in the west Texas plains terrain of Nolan County.
