Golf in Gilmer

Gilmer is the county seat of Upshur County in the East Texas Piney Woods northeast of Tyler, known as the home of the East Texas Yamboree, a fall yam festival. The deep East Texas forest setting of Upshur County provides a wooded environment typical of the Piney Woods region, with tall pines, hardwoods, and the creek drainages of the Cypress Creek watershed. Gilmer is a small county seat serving the rural population of Upshur County's forest and farm country, approximately 25 miles northeast of Tyler.
