Golf in Howardwick

Howardwick is a small community in Donley County in the southeastern Texas Panhandle near Clarendon, at the edge of the terrain that drains into the Red River. The community is near the Greenbelt Lake area and the Clarendon golf facilities. Donley County is in the eastern Panhandle, where the flat High Plains give way to the Red River breaks, with the Greenbelt Reservoir providing water recreation. Clarendon is the county seat and the primary commercial center for Donley County. The terrain of the eastern Panhandle at roughly 2,600 feet elevation has red clay soils and native grasses, with the river breaks providing topographic variation. One course serves this small Panhandle community near the Greenbelt area.
