Golf in Pleasanton

Pleasanton is the county seat of Atascosa County south of San Antonio, known as the Birthplace of the Cowboy for its connection to the early Texas cattle drive heritage and the South Texas ranching tradition. The brush country of Atascosa County is in the transition zone between the Hill Country and the deep South Texas plains, with mesquite, prickly pear, and live oak on the gently varied terrain. The Atascosa River flows through the community. Atascosa County has a significant oil and gas production component alongside the ranching economy that shaped the county. The community is approximately 40 miles south of San Antonio along US 281, serving as the commercial hub for the county. One course serves the Pleasanton community in the mesquite and live oak brush country of south-central Texas.
