2 golf courses in Seminole, Texas.

Seminole is the county seat of Gaines County on the Llano Estacado near the New Mexico border, in the cotton farming and oil-production country of the South Plains. Gaines County is one of the leading cotton-producing counties in Texas, with significant agricultural output dependent on the Ogallala Aquifer for irrigation water in the semi-arid, flat terrain at roughly 3,500 feet elevation. Permian Basin oil production also contributes to the Gaines County economy, with active wells alongside the irrigated cotton fields. Seminole is approximately 80 miles southwest of Lubbock on US 385. The flat terrain of the Llano Estacado extends in all directions, with the New Mexico border only a short distance to the west. Two courses serve the Seminole community—one currently closed—in the flat, semi-arid terrain of the South Plains near the New Mexico line.
