Golf in Spicewood

2 golf courses in Spicewood, Texas.

Spicewood is a small community in Travis County on the north shore of Lake Travis west of Austin, in the limestone Hill Country terrain above the Colorado River reservoir. The community has attracted resort and retirement residential development in the cedar and oak landscape of the Lake Travis corridor as Austin's western Hill Country reach has expanded. Lake Travis is the primary flood-control and water supply reservoir for the Austin area, formed by the Mansfield Dam on the Colorado River. Spicewood is in the unincorporated western Travis County area, beyond the main Austin suburban zone, and retains a more rural Hill Country character. The limestone terrain above the lake has cedar and live oak woodland. Two courses—including the Wolfdancer course at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines at the county boundary—serve the Spicewood area in the cedar and limestone terrain.
