Golf in Waskom

Waskom is a small city in Harrison County at the Texas-Louisiana border on I-20, one of the easternmost communities in Texas before crossing into Louisiana. The community is entirely within the cultural zone of the Ark-La-Tex border region, with the Sabine River marking the state line just east of the city. Harrison County is in the deep East Texas Piney Woods, and the forested terrain extends across the Louisiana state line in this wet, forested corner of the state. The community serves as a small commercial stop on the I-20 corridor between Marshall, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana. The pine and hardwood forest, high rainfall, and humid subtropical climate of this part of East Texas give it a distinctly Southern character. One course serves the Waskom community in the forested terrain of the Ark-La-Tex border area.
