Golf in Waxahachie

Waxahachie is the county seat of Ellis County south of Dallas, well known for its remarkable collection of Victorian buildings including the ornate 1895 Ellis County Courthouse and the numerous ornately decorated homes along the Gingerbread Trail. The city has maintained its building character while growing as a southern Metroplex community along the I-35E corridor. Ellis County has been growing as the Dallas southern suburban zone has expanded, and Waxahachie is the major city in the county. The Gingerbread Trail attracts enthusiasts of Victorian-era craftsmanship, and the community has been used as a film location for period productions. The Blackland Prairie terrain of Ellis County has heavy clay soils and the gently varied topography of the north-central Texas prairie. One course serves the Waxahachie community in the Blackland Prairie terrain of northern Ellis County.
