Golf in Aptos

Aptos is an unincorporated community in Santa Cruz County on the Monterey Bay coast, south of Santa Cruz and north of Capitola. The community occupies a relatively flat coastal terrace above the bay, in a zone where the Coast Range foothills meet the Pacific coastline. Santa Cruz County extends from the Pacific coast eastward into the Santa Cruz Mountains, and Aptos sits in the lower coastal portion of the county. The community is primarily residential with some commercial activity along the Freedom Boulevard corridor. Cabrillo College is located in the Aptos area and provides local educational and employment presence. The Nisene Marks State Park, a large redwood forest preserve, is immediately inland in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The community has grown as a residential area for those commuting to Santa Cruz or to the Silicon Valley via State Route 17.
