Golf in Mount Hermon

Mount Hermon is a small community in Santa Cruz County in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in the San Lorenzo Valley northeast of Santa Cruz. The community occupies a forested canyon setting at roughly 400 to 700 feet elevation, where redwood groves and mixed conifer forest cover the mountain terrain. Santa Cruz County's inland mountain communities have a distinct character from the coastal areas, with dense forest and narrow valley terrain. Mount Hermon is associated with a Christian conference center of the same name that occupies a significant portion of the community. The San Lorenzo River runs through the valley, and several state park units in the area preserve old-growth and second-growth redwood stands. State Route 9 provides the main road connection through the valley, linking the community to Boulder Creek to the north and to Felton and Santa Cruz to the south.
