Golf in Arnold

Arnold is a community in Calaveras County in the Sierra Nevada mountains, at roughly 4,000 feet elevation on the western Sierra side. The community sits in a zone of mixed conifer forest along State Route 4, which connects the Central Valley to the east side of the Sierra via Ebbetts Pass. Calaveras County spans from the San Joaquin Valley floor to the Sierra crest, and Arnold occupies a mid-elevation position on the western Sierra side. The area draws residents and visitors seeking a mountain environment with reasonable access to the Central Valley. Arnold has limited commercial services, with the nearby town of Murphys serving as a larger hub for the middle elevations of Calaveras County. Winter brings significant snowfall at Arnold's elevation, while summers are cool and dry compared to the valley. The surrounding national forest contains extensive trail networks and recreation opportunities in the high terrain above the community.
