Golf in Ceres

Ceres is a city in Stanislaus County in the San Joaquin Valley, immediately south of Modesto. The city occupies flat valley terrain in the Stanislaus County floor, where intensive agriculture and residential development exist side by side. Stanislaus County's urban core centers on Modesto, with Ceres, Turlock, and other smaller cities forming a constellation of communities across the valley floor. The local economy includes agriculture, retail, light manufacturing, and services, with many residents commuting to Modesto or elsewhere in the regional economy. State Route 99 provides the main north-south corridor through the San Joaquin Valley, passing through Ceres on its route between Modesto and Fresno. The city has a compact downtown and has grown with residential development as population has expanded from Modesto's core. Agricultural land, including dairies, orchards, and row crops, remains present on the city's edges despite substantial urban growth.
