Golf in Chico

Chico is a city in Butte County in the Sacramento Valley, northeast of Sacramento and west of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The city serves as the main commercial and cultural hub for Butte County and the surrounding region, with California State University, Chico providing a significant educational and economic presence. The city sits on the flat Sacramento Valley floor at roughly 200 feet elevation, with the Sierra foothills rising to the east and the valley floor extending to the west. Butte County's agricultural economy includes rice, almonds, olives, and other crops, with valley farmland surrounding the city to the south and west. Bidwell Park, a large city park extending from the urban core east into the foothills, provides open space within the city limits. State Route 99 runs through the area. The city has a compact downtown and a university-driven retail and restaurant district.
