Golf in Thermalito

Thermalito is a small community in Butte County in the Sacramento Valley, adjacent to Oroville on the west side of the Feather River. The community is part of the Oroville urban area and primarily residential, with residents using Oroville for most commercial and employment needs. Butte County's communities along the Feather River include Thermalito, Oroville, and several smaller settlements that occupy the transition between the valley floor and the Sierra Nevada foothills. The Thermalito Diversion Dam is part of the Oroville-Thermalito Complex, a water project that directs Feather River water through a series of forebays and power generation facilities before returning it to the river. State Route 70 passes through the broader Oroville area and connects south to Marysville and northeast to the Feather River Canyon. The community has a quiet residential character with the power generation facilities part of the local infrastructure.
