Dublin is a city in Alameda County in the Tri-Valley, at the intersection of Interstate 580 and Interstate 680. The city occupies flat valley terrain at the main Tri-Valley transportation node, where the two freeways intersect to provide connections to the Bay Area, Sacramento, and the Central Valley. Alameda County's Tri-Valley communities, including Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore, have grown substantially as residential destinations for Bay Area commuters. Dublin has one of the faster-growing populations in the Bay Area, with extensive new residential development on its eastern edge. The city has a substantial retail base along the Dublin Boulevard corridor, including the Hacienda Business Park and Dublin Ranch commercial areas. BART reaches Dublin at the East Dublin-Pleasanton station, providing transit access to the Bay Area network.
