Golf in El Cajon

El Cajon is a city in San Diego County east of San Diego in the El Cajon Valley, at the eastern end of Interstate 8 in San Diego's East County. The city occupies a broad valley floor at the base of the coastal mountains east of San Diego, where the Interstate 8 corridor serves as the main commuter route connecting East County to downtown San Diego. San Diego County's East County cities, including El Cajon and Santee, form a suburban residential corridor east of the main city. The city has a substantial retail and commercial base along the main arterials. El Cajon has a diverse and growing population, including a significant Middle Eastern and Somali immigrant community. Gillespie Field, a general aviation airport, is within the broader El Cajon area.
