Golf in Port Hueneme

Port Hueneme is a small city in Ventura County on the Pacific coast, south of Oxnard. The city is home to Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme, a Navy installation that supports sea lift and expeditionary logistics operations and is a significant employer in the area. Ventura County's coastal communities south of Oxnard have a character shaped partly by the naval presence. The city has a residential area and Hueneme Beach, a public beach on the Pacific. The Port of Hueneme, a commercial deep-water port that handles agricultural and military cargo, is within the city. A museum on the naval base provides educational programming about the Seabees and base operations. Port Hueneme has one of the smaller land areas of any incorporated city in Ventura County.
