Golf in San Marcos

San Marcos is a city in San Diego County in the north county inland area, east of Carlsbad and north of Escondido. The city has grown substantially in recent decades and is home to two significant educational institutions: California State University San Marcos and Palomar College. San Diego County's north county inland communities, including San Marcos, have grown as residential and educational centers away from the more expensive coastal communities. The city has a growing commercial base along Twin Oaks Valley Road and Grand Avenue, and a concentration of industrial and technology businesses along the Palomar Airport Road corridor. State Route 78 provides east-west highway access, connecting San Marcos to Oceanside on the coast and to Escondido to the east.
