Golf in Signal Hill

Signal Hill is a small incorporated city in Los Angeles County, entirely surrounded by the city of Long Beach. The city occupies a low hill rising above the flat coastal plain of southern Los Angeles County, where oil production has been part of the land use since the early twentieth century. Los Angeles County's smaller incorporated cities include Signal Hill, which has a combination of residential, commercial, and light industrial uses. Oil derricks and storage tanks that long characterized the hill have been largely replaced with residential and commercial development, though some production continues. The city has a commercial corridor along Cherry Avenue, and the hill provides elevated terrain in the otherwise flat coastal plain. Interstate 405 is accessible nearby.
