Golf in Beaumont

Beaumont is the county seat of Jefferson County and one of the Golden Triangle cities in far southeast Texas, a major industrial and port city with deep connections to the Texas oil industry. The Spindletop discovery well near Beaumont in 1901 launched the modern petroleum era, and the area has been central to the refining and petrochemical industry since that time. The Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum commemorates the era. Jefferson County is adjacent to the Sabine Lake and the Louisiana border, and the Port of Beaumont is an active industrial shipping facility on the Neches River. The flat coastal plain terrain and the humid subtropical climate of the Louisiana border region define the setting. Two courses serve the Beaumont area in the flat forested terrain of southeast Texas.
