Golf in Port Arthur

1 golf course in Port Arthur, Texas.

Port Arthur is one of the three Golden Triangle cities in Jefferson County on the Gulf Coast of Southeast Texas, a port city with strong connections to the oil refining industry that has operated along the Sabine Lake and Sabine-Neches Waterway. The city was the birthplace of Janis Joplin, the rock and blues singer, and of Babe Didrikson Zaharias, the all-around sports champion whose legacy is honored at the local golf course. Jefferson County's Golden Triangle—Port Arthur, Beaumont, and Orange—has one of the highest concentrations of refining and petrochemical capacity in the United States. Port Arthur Lake and the Sabine Lake provide water access along the flat coastal plain. One course, named in honor of Zaharias, serves the Port Arthur community in the Gulf Coast terrain of Jefferson County.
