Golf in Pinewood Estates

Pinewood Estates is a community in Hardin County in the Big Thicket area of Southeast Texas, in the dense pine and hardwood forest that characterizes the national preserve region. The Big Thicket National Preserve, which runs through Hardin County, is known for extraordinary biological diversity that earned it designation as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The dense bottomland forest, pitcher plants, orchids, and the meeting of multiple ecological zones give the Big Thicket a unique natural character. Hardin County is in the Piney Woods of Southeast Texas, with Kountze as the county seat and the Neches River draining the forested uplands. The high rainfall and abundant vegetation of this part of Southeast Texas stand in contrast to the drier landscapes of most of the state. One course serves the Pinewood Estates area in the forested terrain of the Big Thicket region.
