Golf in Hooks

Hooks is a small city in southern Bowie County near Texarkana in the far northeast corner of Texas, in the humid forested country near the Arkansas and Louisiana borders. The community is in the Ark-La-Tex region where the three state borders converge and the landscape has an Eastern woodland character with abundant rainfall and pine and hardwood forest. Bowie County and the Texarkana area have a distinct identity as a border region between Texas and Arkansas, with shared commerce and culture between the two states. The Red River drainage defines the southern portion of Bowie County, and the forested uplands characterize the northern part near the community. One course serves the Hooks community in the forested terrain of northeast Texas.
