Mount Pleasant is the county seat of Titus County in Northeast Texas and a mid-size regional center in the Big Cypress Creek drainage area of the Piney Woods. The community serves as the commercial, medical, and educational hub for a multi-county area in Northeast Texas. Lake Bob Sandlin State Park is nearby on the reservoir created by the dam on Big Cypress Creek, providing recreation in the pine and hardwood forest terrain of Titus County.
