Golf in Ozona

Ozona is the county seat of Crockett County in the Edwards Plateau of west-central Texas, one of the more remote county seats in the state in one of the largest counties by area. The sheep and Angora goat ranching economy of the southwestern plateau defines the character of this isolated community, which is the only community in Crockett County. The community is at the junction of I-10 and US 163 in the dry limestone country at roughly 2,400 feet elevation. Crockett County's springs and creek drainages provide limited water in an otherwise arid plateau landscape. The Pecos River, a significant watercourse of the Trans-Pecos region, flows along the county's western border. The remote character of Ozona and the sparse settlement of the surrounding country are defining features of this far west Texas community. One course serves the Ozona community in the remote Edwards Plateau terrain of Crockett County.
