Golf in Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale is a small incorporated town in eastern Dallas County between Dallas and Lake Ray Hubbard, a community that has maintained a semi-rural residential character while being surrounded by urban development. The town has restricted its own growth to preserve a lower-density residential character unlike the dense suburban development of adjacent Mesquite, Garland, and Rowlett. The proximity to Lake Ray Hubbard provides some natural amenity, and the eastern Dallas County location gives Sunnyvale access to the broader Metroplex via US 80 and the I-30 corridor. The terrain is gently varied Blackland Prairie with heavy clay soils typical of eastern Dallas County. Sunnyvale maintains a town government and has resisted annexation by the larger adjacent cities. One golf instruction facility serves the Sunnyvale area in the flat terrain of eastern Dallas County.
