Golf in Fairfax

Fairfax is a small incorporated town in Marin County, northwest of San Rafael in the Ross Valley. The town sits in a canyon-bottom setting where San Anselmo Creek flows through the valley, surrounded by the oak and mixed forest hills characteristic of the Marin County interior. Marin County sits north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate and has a mix of suburban communities in its southern and central areas and rural open space in the northern and western sections. Fairfax has a pedestrian-oriented downtown, a concentration of independent businesses, and a population that trends toward arts and outdoor-oriented demographics. The surrounding Marin hills and Mount Tamalpais watershed provide extensive open space immediately adjacent to the town. Fairfax is accessible from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, which runs east toward San Rafael and west toward the Point Reyes corridor.
